INTERWIL AUSTRALIA

Interwil Australia emerged from the South African trading company Interwil Wood Products. In 2012, the company entered the Australian and New Zealand markets through an agency partnership, initially focusing on selling hardboard sourced from South Africa. It later expanded its supply network to include various global hardboard manufacturers, namely Betanzos Hardboard and Tarnaise de Panneaux.

Over the years, the relationship between Betanzos and Interwil Wood Products strengthened, with Betanzos becoming the trusted hardboard brand in the Australian and New Zealand markets to date.

In 2023, Interwil Wood Products entered into a joint venture with HTP Global, establishing a new entity in Australia called Interwil Australia Pty Ltd. The goal of the joint venture is to leverage off the supply networks of both parent companies while broadening product offerings in these markets. This partnership has unlocked a diverse range of timber and allied products on a global scale.

Interwil Australia’s business model focuses on procuring wood-based products from leading global manufacturers. These products are containerized and shipped to customers’ ports of choice. The company does not maintain any inventory on-site; instead, it encourages customers to take responsibility for market distribution and service on a just-in-time basis, thereby enhancing efficiency and responsiveness in the supply chain.
